New Venue For Madonna's Budapest Show

If you are to attend the ‘Sticky & Sweet’ show scheduled in Budapest on August 22, please note that the show moves from Kincsem Park to Puskas Ferenc Stadion.

All tickets remain valid in the new venue!

GOLD and SILVER tickets remain in the same location in front of the stage. The ticket-holders should follow the signs “GOLD” and “SILVER” at the stadium.

The allocation for the BRONZE ticket owners will be on the grandstands, therefore closer to the stage and with a much better view. They should follow the signs "BRONZE" at the stadium.

The VIP ticket service remains exactly the same. The ticket-holders will receive a personal note about their exact seating location and parking place directly to their mailboxes.

All other seated ticket holders – as originally planned at Kincsem Park – will be on the tribunes facing the stage. They can get their new seat numbers at the Ticketpro central office (Budapest, VII. Károly krt. 9.) from July 31th until August 19th, or at the venue on the show day.

With the change of venue to the Puskas Ferenc Stadium tickets additional tickets are now available in the Ticketpro network, including new seated tickets. The new seated tickets can be purchased in all TicketPro outlets from July 31st.

Budapest show venue 'blocked' by Hungary soccer chief
Madonna concert organizers are scrambling in Budapest after a bid to move her concert from a horse-racing track to Hungary’s biggest sports stadium was rejected by the country’s soccer authority.
The sport’s local governing body won’t allow Madonna to use the Ferenc Puskas stadium on Aug. 22, to protect the field for a potential Champions’ League game four days later and two World Cup qualifying matches in September, it said on its Web site.
Madonna’s concert, part of her 'Sticky and Sweet' tour, was scheduled to be held at the Kincsem Park race track near the tail end of her European tour that started in London’s O2 Arena on July 4. MLSZ, the soccer federation, has rejected an offer by local organizers to replace the stadium turf for the games.
'I am personally not open to Madonna holding her concert at Puskas stadium and therefore I see no reason to meet in person about this,' MLSZ President Istvan Kisteleki said in a letter posted on the federation’s Web site yesterday.
Organizers wanted to move the concert because the stadium is more cost efficient, with supporting infrastructure already in place, said Lajos Vajto, the managing director of Kincsem Park. The race track remains open to hosting the Madonna concert and wants to refrain from taking advantage of the difficulties organizers are facing, according to Vajto.
'There’s no Plan C,' he said in a phone interview. 'Kincsem Park wants to remain elegant and classy in its dealings with the concert. We consider it an honor that such a star would perform at our venue and will do our utmost to make sure the organization is as excellent as the production itself.'
Live Nation spokeswoman Eva Markus declined to say why organizers want to move the concert, or whether holding it at Kincsem Park is still an option. The company, in a statement yesterday said the concert would be held as scheduled 'in Budapest,' without elaborating.
Live Nation advertises the concert with Puskas Stadium as the venue, while Kincsem Park is listed on Madonna’s Web site. Nusi, the sports institute in charge of programs at Puskas Stadium, has a link to a Madonna concert at Kincsem Park.

Live Nation Hungary has accepted the apology of NUSI, concerning the problems that have arisen about the booking of the Puskas Ferenc Stadium for the concert of Madonna on August 22nd, and hereby informs the audience that the show will remain at the original venue, the Kincsem Park Hippodrome.

Live Nation remains perplexed by the position of the President of the Hungarian Football Federation, who refused our offer of grass replacement at the Puskas Ferenc Stadium, which would clearly have been in the best interests of Hungarian football. But the most important thing now is that the show must go on, and we must accept that the time is not sufficient to try to solve the issues, in the face of such inflexibility. Unfortunately though, this inflexibility could have serious consequences for the future of major concerts in Hungary.

We would like to take this opportunity to say a very special thanks to the management of Kincsem Park, who have shown commendable willingness to help throughout this affair. We look forward to welcoming the Madonna audience to an unforgettable concert at their excellent venue.
